Samsung’s Pinpoint Dimming… What Is It?
Since we became among the first in the country to take stock of the Samsung Series 8 LED TVs, the key distinguishing feature, Pinpoint Dimming, has been a major point of conjecture. We therefore though it would be good to compile the information we have about it in this short, sharp blog post.
So, Pinpoint Dimming… there is a technical description and a non-technical description. So as to keep it simple, we’ll start with the simple one. Pinpoint dimming effectively increases the number of LEDs within the TV, which improves the TV’s ability to control the exact amount of light that is produced. This in turn allows for enhanced colours and, importantly, deeper blacks. This means your overall picture quality receives a good boost thanks to the pinpoint dimming technology.
Buying Guide: TV Wall Mounting
We’ve recently been asked a few times about some of the finer details surrounding wall mounting. In particular, questions have been raised by you guys surrounding VESA and non-VESA wall mounts. Here’s a bit of a buying guide for you…
What is a VESA Wall Mount?
VESA is a set of standards for manufacturing flat screen TV and PC monitors. The standard includes the hole-patterns on the back of the TV or monitor for adding a mounting device.
Before you buy a VESA wall mount, be sure that your Television or monitor is VESA compliant. The specific VESA mounting details should be included in your TV’s manual and/or in the specifications. However, if you’re unsure you can just contact us and we’ll run through it with you. Click Here To Read More
