Strictly speaking, consumer LED TV&#039;s are just a type of LCD, with LED lights used to backlight a larger panel. Therefore, some company&#039;s prefer to more accurately refer to the TV&#039;s as an &quot;LED LCD&quot;. 

In actual fact, the only truely real type of LED is made up entirely of little LED lights. Think a scoreboard at a sports stadium. This would be impractical for smaller consumer screens and at this stage totally cost prohibitive. Perhaps one day though we&#039;ll see true LED screens in our living rooms...</description>
