Portable media players (PMP) or personal media players, are small devices that allow you to access a variety of multimedia whilst on the move. The earliest forms of PMPs were MP3 players, allowing you to listen to your music wherever you are, all through one small, pocket-sized machine. This basic form of PMP led to the production of the Apple iPod, iRiver and other similar devices from companies like Samsung, Sony and LG.
